The Main Street America Group
Offers
New Payment Methods for Policyholders
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., January 9, 2006 – The Main Street
America Group announced today that it has expanded its payment
choices for policyholders by adding phone and online payment
methods, using a credit card, ATM debit card, check card or
electronic check. The new service is available 24 hours a
day, seven days a week.
The Main Street America Group has partnered with BillMatrix
Corp., a subsidiary of Fiserv, Inc. (Nasdaq: FISV), to offer
the new payment methods. Policyholders can use the service
for premium payments.
“These fast and secure payment methods allow our independent
agent-customers to provide better service for their customers
and make it easier to do business with The Main Street America
Group,” said Bill Anderson, Vice President of Marketing
and Integrated Solutions at The Main Street America Group.
“The online and phone payment choices also cut down
on unnecessary cancellations or reinstatements because it
speeds payment receipt time.”
Payments made before 7 p.m. Eastern Time are credited on
that business day. Payments made after the close of business
are credited the following business day. For the policyholder’s
convenience, a confirmation number is provided to verify the
payment has been processed.
Jerry Portocalis, SVP of Sales & Marketing, welcomed
The Main Street America Group to a growing number of BillMatrix
insurance clients, saying, “Many consumers these days
are turning away from using traditional payment methods and
migrating to time-saving electronic methods to pay their bills.
The Main Street America Group is being responsive to their
policyholders’ needs, while at the same time enjoying
the operational efficiencies of electronic payments. The addition
of phone and online payment options provides policyholders
with more choices when paying their bills so they can select
the method that best fits their needs.”
